This is a decently sized island site in the East Arm. The site proper terrain is nice and flat, and the fire pit is well located. The canoe landing is decent, although there is a bit of a step from the shoreline down to the waterline, so pulling the canoe up for loading/unloading is a bit more complicated. I liked the tent pads here. Lots of level ground to pitch a tent or three. I was less wild about the shoreline coverage and views. There is a decent amount of growth along the water’s edge, meaning you’ve got semi-obstructed views out to the water from most of the site. It’s not enough to make you feel trapped, but it does leave you feeling a bit removed from the lake.

Are there better sites nearby? Depends on what you’re looking for, but I think the answer is yes. For larger groups, I’d probably look at sites 16-19. If you’re solo or a couple, site 8 on the same island would be my preferred site (although your mileage will vary depending on how exposed you want your site to be and how much you care about level terrain).
