This isn’t a very inspiring site. Sitting at the start of Timberwolf Creek, it’s your last option on Timberwolf before heading over to Misty by way of the creek. I’ll save you some time, you should keep going. This site is small and relatively overgrown. There’s room for a couple of tents at most and both the views and swimming opportunities aren’t that exciting. There’s a decent amount of growth surrounding the site. On the plus side this would likely cut the wind on a cold shoulder season trip. On the negative side it makes the site feel dark and enclosed. The fire pit area is fine but nothing spectacular. If you decide to keep going up Timberwolf Creek (and you should decided to keep going up Timberwolf Creek), your next site option on Misty is awesome.
Are there better sites nearby? Yes. Timberwolf site 2 looked better than this one (but that’s a pretty easy comp to beat) and, while it’s not exactly nearby, Misty Site 13 is on the other side of the Timberwolf Creek portage and it is awesome.
