This is a basic campsite just off the p155 between Burntroot and Perley Lake. This is a smaller site, level, with room for a couple of tents. It’s close to the portage, so it’s not going to feel like the most secluded site in the Park. The canoe landing area is that portage landing, so it’s very easy to load and unload (but you do have a small walk to get from that landing to your sight). There’s no uphill to speak of, and the fire pit area is basic, but useable. The main attraction here is the remains of an old root cellar behind the site. This thing is an old dovetail log structure that is as solid as anything I’ve seen in the Park. I’d stay on this site (particularly in the spring and fall) just for the cellar (seems like a good place to ride out some bad weather). That said, you can also do what we did which is check out the cellar (and by extension the site) then find a better spot to actually spend the night.
