Site Location

This site sits just south of the portage over from Rumley Lake on Godda’s east shore. It’s a decent site. Very flat, with room for a medium sized group. There were multiple tent spots and a nice, if basic, fire pit set up. The view across Godda from the pit is quite nice, while the views from the interior of the site are semi-obstructed at best by the shoreline growth and tall, skinny pines that dot the site.

The two main drawbacks to this site are the thunderbox, which looks older than the Park itself and is very close to the site proper, and the quasi bog just behind the site. I would be worried about staying here in late May and June because of bugs, but for an early season or later summer trip this would be a good spot.

Are there better sites nearby? I’d take Site 2 on the other side Godda over this one, but it’s still a decent option.
