This is a relatively good sized campsite just up the East Arm’s south shore from the entry narrows. It’s an enclosed site, there’s a decent amount of shoreline growth and views out to the water from the site’s interior are semi-obstructed for the most part. That said, the fire pit is nicely situated towards the front of the site and I would say that the pines that dot the shoreline there actually add to the view.
There’s a decent landing area, clear enough that I was able to pull up a 15 foot tin boat (I was riding Opeongo in style that day). That said, there are a few underwater rocks and obstructions, so keep an eye out. Swimming here would be fine. The underwater terrain is rocky, so water shoes might be a good idea.
The ground around the site is level and easy to navigate, and there’s room for a few tents. The thunderbox looks like it’s been there for a while, and the path to get back there is long and kind of dank. Other than that, it’s a good site.
