Site Location

This is a fantastic spot. Lots of space, private without feeling cramped and in a great location. The site sits on one of Proulx’s points. The point is right on the main route up to Little Crow / Big Crow and the Crow River, but the treelined shoreline keeps the site feeling private. Because it’s a big site, the growth all along the shoreline does not make it feel cramped in the way that some sites can when there aren’t many windows out to the water.

The terrain is flat and easy to navigate. There’s room for quite a few tents and good trees for hanging tarps or hammocks too. The canoe landing is a nice little beach on the northeast side of the point, which doubles as a great swim spot.

The fire pit, which is large and well built, is probably the only thing I didn’t love simply because it doesn’t have much of a view of the water. But that’s a personal preference and it’s a good pit. All in all, great spot.

Are there better sites nearby? Not that I’ve checked out.
