Site Location

This is a compact site at the east end of Whiskey Jack. It’s got room for a couple of people and you’d better really like that other person if you decide to stay here.

The fire pit area is quite close to the water and the ground around it is reasonably free of tripping obstacles. While the area around the fire pit is reasonably flat, there is a small rise behind the site. This is where you’ll find the tent pads, and those pads are actually pretty good. They’ve been levelled out of the hill so you’re going to have flat ground beneath you. You may also have some water beneath you if it’s a heavy rain as I imagine those pads will collect some runoff from the hill above.

The fire pit has a nice westward view and is well built up against the onshore wind. The canoe landing is fine. Just a break in the shoreline growth. The underwater terrain here is kind of mucky, it probably wouldn’t be my first choice for a swim.

Are there better sites nearby? Yes. I’d rather stay at either of Sites 3 or 4.
