This is a solid site. Nicely tucked away on Louisa’s north shore, with a great rock frontage and a decent amount of useable space towards the back. Is there a quasi-swampy area just to the west? Sure. But that just means you’ll want to have the bug spray if you stay here in June. But, honestly, you’ll want bug spray for any site in June, so it’s not a big deal.
Fire Pit: The fire pit is located where the rock turns into dirt. It’s got a nice view out to the lake and is well situated on the site. It would be a bit exposed in the event of a high wind, but not so much that you wouldn’t be able to get a fire going. The fire pit itself wasn’t in the best shape when I was there, but that can easily be fixed with some TLC.
Notes: I liked this site. On any other lake it would probably be near the top of my list, on Louisa it’s a bit further down just because there are so many great spots.
